LENGTH: Your foot should fill the whole shoe from front to back with no extra space at the heel

WIDTH: Should be snug when brand new, not uncomfortably tight. We use very high quality leather that will stretch and soften with wear. Classic Avarcas will be tight when they are new and will soften and mould to your foot as you wear them.

Please avoid sizing up in this style, as once the leather has softened and stretched the heel strap may slip off.

INSOLES
Our Classic Avarca range uses a bovine leather for the insole which has followed a 100% natural and chemical-free vegetable tanning process, therefore no finish is applied to the leather. This keeps the foot dry by allowing it to breathe naturally, which avoids perspiration & odors. The insoles will therefore naturally change colour and darken over time with wear and with exposure to light, sun and dirt.

To keep your insole as fresh as possible, ensure that your feet are always clean and dry before wear, as dirt transfer from feet to the insoles can cause marks on the leather.

To clean the insoles, we recommend using a gentle leather cleaning spray or cream to remove excess dirt but please note that dirt absorbed by the leather will not be able to be removed.

You can also spray your innersoles with a leather protecting spray when new to protect against water and stains.

UPPERS

Natural leathers: wipe with a wet cloth or a leather cleaning product. To extend the life of the leathers we recommend treating with a leather protector spray.

Glitters: gently spray with a little with fresh water to remove and dust or dirt from the surface.

Metallics: finishes are delicate and need to be worn with care to prevent scratches to the surface. Once scratched, it is not possible to remove or repair.
